Course Overview

Our protecting yourself and your information course teaches employees learn about the most important elements of information security. It teaches them how to avoid becoming a security liability and provides basic knowledge on information security best practices to minimise preventable mistakes.

The course reduced the likelihood of human error by familiarising non-technical staff with security awareness policies and procedures. Currently staff are increasingly depending on digital services and the need to protect our information from being maliciously disrupted or misused is essential.

Computer Training Wales can run this course inhouse or at our premises for any number of delegates. Staff will learn how to recognise the threats that could harm your organisation and the steps you can take to reduce the chances that they will happen to your organisation.

We will introduce staff to the different types of malware, including viruses and Trojans, as well as concepts such as network security, cryptography, identity theft and risk management. During this course staff will learn how to keep personal data safe on the internet. The course covers ways to avoid identity theft, how to identify email phishing scams, targeted social engineering techniques, using online banking safely and how to look after your digital footprint.
